The article you are reading is dedicated to Baselworld 2017: the world watch fair that will be held in Basel from 23 to 30 March 2017.
The event, which began in 1917 in a modest corner dedicated to watches and jewelry within the Schweizer Mustermesse Basel (muba) trade fair, now boasts 141,000 square meters of exhibition space after the 2013 renovation. The 2015 edition saw over 1,500 brands on display, bringing together watchmakers, jewelers, diamond, gemstone and pearl dealers, as well as manufacturers of machinery and tools, from every corner of the world. From March 19 to 26, 2015, Baselworld attracted 150,000 visitors, including industry professionals, a 3% decrease compared to the 2014 edition. This unrivaled show is the only one to bring together the entire industry under one roof. All the players of international stature are represented, which gives the show its reputation as a trendsetter and an unmissable event where industry history is written. Baselworld will open its doors on March 23 and will continue until March 30, 2017.
