Locman joins Genesi

Locman is a symbol of Made in Italy watchmaking that never ceases to amaze us. Born by the sea, on the Island of Elba, in March 2021 it took a further step towards growth. It joined forces with the historic manufacturer Genesi of Milan. Let's find out together how Locman joins Genesi!

A dive into the past...

Locman

Locman , let us remember, is a historic all-Italian watchmaking group, founded in 1986 on the beautiful Island of Elba. It produces wristwatches, but also glasses and was founded by Locci and Mantovani. In 2006 Locman also founded the Italian School of Watchmaking, with a view to continuous development not only of the company itself, but also of the watchmaking world. It boasts offices located in Florence, Milan, Tokyo, New York and Hong Kong.

Genesis

Genesi, on the other hand, was founded in Milan as a watch factory-studio over 50 years ago by Luigi Leandri. It is a mechanical workshop for precision work, specializing in the production of watches for third parties. Its collaboration with Locman began right from the beginning of the brand, for the production of the first briar watches. A great success right from the start.

The first meetings

In 2003, a small but significant turning point: Locman, one of the few independent brands on the market, purchased 60% of Genesi's share capital, only to reach 100% three years later.

In short: the close collaboration between the two companies has now celebrated 18 years and the time has come to make the leap in quality, officially uniting the two brands.

The choice to merge the two companies is therefore dictated by a shared past, with a view to a strategy that aims to give enthusiasts watches of ever-increasing quality.

A look to the future

The goal indicated by Marco Mantovani, president of Locman, is to continue to keep alive the wonderful tradition of Italian watchmaking, giving greater value to the manufacturing and technological excellence that our peninsula welcomes.

The best watchmakers in the world are Italian, it is right to specify it! And surely Locman and Genesi will be able to carry high this all-Italian pride.
