TAG Heuer presents the Connected Modular 45 smartwatch

TAG Heuer has finally unveiled the Connected Modular 45.

TAG Heuer launches a new Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch, the first of a modular type. The case, which contains the “Connected” part, can be replaced with that of a traditional “ Swiss Made ” mechanical watch. When purchasing, you will basically build your own personalized TAG Heuer, but you can also make many changes later, such as changing straps, accessories, and even the case itself. This is a super technological smartwatch, which winks at hi-tech but which is based on the Swiss watchmaking tradition.

Connected Modular 45 was designed, developed and assembled at the company's headquarters in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. And it shows! The smartwatch has a diameter of 45 mm and its lines resemble those of a classic watch, with interchangeable lugs, strap, buckle and case. Connected Modular 45 was designed in polished or satin-finished grade 5 titanium, 18K 5N rose gold plating or black ceramic with or without diamonds. There are as many as 56 different versions available for this model. In reality, 11 standard models will be available in store while the other 45 will be available on request.

From the name of the watch, Modular , we immediately understand how the consumer can assemble the different available modules, so as to build the perfect watch , the most desired one. It starts from the connected module, then moves on to the mechanical movement module and to about 500 other possible combinations .

Technical performance

The smartwatch based on the Intel Atom Z34XX chip, has a 1.39” AMOLED display, is waterproof up to 50 meters , integrates the NFC chip, has an Intel Atom processor, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. There is also Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC for Android Pay , and the manufacturer also promises over 30 hours of battery life. It can also be customized to the best with 30 dials , all faithful to the TAG Heuer identity.
