CO2 emissions …..brilliant
It seems that a group of Chinese scientists, after years of studies, tests and work, have managed to produce very, very small diamonds, with a diameter of a few millimetres, colourless and transparent (not milky) using... carbon dioxide as a nutrient.
The production method should be much cheaper than any other currently in use, it is not news that diamond is already in production at a synthetic level even if the production costs are still considerable. Naturally, the diamond testers, used by less experienced dealers, will give the result that it is a diamond, therefore the valuation at the sale will be the same as that given to the natural material which, alas, comes from mother earth.
All this to say that the safest channel for purchasing natural material is and still remains your trusted jeweler, better still if a gemologist... For others, the uncertainty of purchasing in trust remains, and a probable thank you to the Chinese scientists who will deprive us of CO2.
