Ferro Gioielli writes a new chapter in its history, begun in 1954 by the watchmaker Nereo Ferro
and from his watch and goldsmith repair workshop in Este: on Saturday 16th September, in fact,
the new store will be inaugurated in Piazza Maggiore. At the ribbon cutting, in addition to the Ferro family
who has been running the business for almost 70 years, the Mayor Matteo Pajola and the
city authorities.
A success “Made in Este” for three generations
The history of Ferro Gioielli is the history of three generations of expert and competent figures, who have
written the history of Italian jewelry and of Este, the municipality in the province of Padua where it was born
the activity and that the Ferro family never wanted to abandon.
In 1954, in the midst of the post-war economic boom, the watchmaker Nereo Ferro and his wife
Italy, known to all as Lia, opened the first workshop for the repair of watches and goldsmiths. Initially
the shop is dedicated only to repairs, but in the 60s it becomes a brand retailer
international watch and jewellery fairs.
In the 80s, Fabrizio Ferro , son of Nereo and Lia, entered the shop after having collected years
experience in the most prestigious goldsmith workshops in Valenza, Piedmont, contributing to opening new
international horizons to the family business which quickly becomes a point of reference
for industry experts in Italy and abroad.
In the 90s Ferro Gioielli became a real brand: Nereo and Fabrizio, in fact, decided to
not limited to repairs and sales and in 1995 they opened a goldsmith's workshop to produce jewellery
with an elegant and refined style.
The 2000s, thanks to the intuition of combining ancient knowledge with new technologies, represent
the opening of Ferro Gioielli to the world of the web. Once again the family anticipates trends: in
2010 dedicated to creating the e-commerce www.ferrogioielli.com giving its customers the opportunity to
also buy online.
A shop in the heart of Este
The historic shop in via Matteotti, already renovated in 2011, will now give way to a new one
headquarters in Piazza Maggiore, in the heart of the city. However, the protagonists of this
history: in addition to Michela, a historic collaborator, there will be Mrs. Emanuela, Fabrizio's wife and
with her sons Gianluca, Gian Marco and Giulio Ferro who will accompany customers towards their choice
of the ideal jewel. Just like Nereo Ferro did almost 70 years ago.
